For nearly four decades, I have proudly called Springwater home. My lifelong commitment to public service spans a career in policing and two terms in elected office.

As your Deputy Mayor, I have worked to be accessible, prepared, and accountable, always putting residents first. As Mayor, I will bring experienced, steady, and respectful leadership, work collaboratively with every member of Council, and will not use Strong Mayor Powers – always putting Springwater first.

My Priorities as Mayor

COMMUNITY SAFETY - EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS

With over three decades in policing and current service on the Huronia West OPP Detachment Board, I know what community safety requires. As Mayor, I will continue to advocate for increased police presence, improved response, and the safety of residents and first responders.

MY COMMITMENT - I WILL NOT USE STRONG MAYOR POWERS

I opposed Strong Mayor Powers when they were introduced, long before they came to Springwater. In 2025, I brought forward a motion opposing Strong Mayor Powers, and again in 2026, opposing the expansion of Strong Mayor Powers to regional government. Both became resolutions of Council. I opposed these powers then, I oppose them now. I will lead collaboratively, encourage respectful debate and build consensus.

RESPECT FOR EVERY TAX DOLLAR

Township spending must be disciplined, transparent, and focused on the services residents rely on. I will continue to ask the tough questions, challenge unnecessary costs, and ensure every budget decision delivers clear value for Springwater.

RESPONSIBLE GROWTH. STRONGER COMMUNITIES.

The Mayor’s unilateral 2022 discussions with Barrie led to a bad land deal, sending billions in future municipal revenue from Springwater lands to Barrie. It didn’t have to happen. I opposed it and stood with residents. Now we must protect our tax base, farmland, community character and future growth.

LOCAL BUSINESSES, FARMERS, AND JOBS

I will support responsible economic development that creates opportunities close to home, supports local businesses and farmers, and recognizes agriculture as a leading economic driver and the foundation of our rural community. I will stand firm against any further loss of Springwater’s farmland.
